Alternative Print Processes Workshop @ Serenbe Photography Center!
Attention all photography enthusiasts! Are you interested in experimenting with different light sensitive emulsions to take your work in another direction?
This workshop will teach students the chemicals and techniques used in three specific photographic processes: Van Dyke Brown, Tintype, and Salted Paper process.
Students will learn what negatives to use, how to make them, how to coat and dry their paper, exposure, developing and how to treat the final print. Students will leave the class with at least one print from one of the three processes as well as the knowledge they need to pursue this type of image making on their own.
All photographers are welcome, from beginners to professionals.
Students are required to bring: foam brushes, 100% cotton rag paper (acid free), one plastic container (recycled containers, i.e. butter tub or Tupperware is great), and an open mind!
